Start by stocking up on cooling sheets just in time for summer!

Everybody knows that Memorial Day weekend is one of the best weekends of the year to shop for a new mattress. And since consumers have come to expect such deep discounts on mattresses around Memorial Day, brands and retailers have also started slashing prices on the rest of their bedding inventory during Memorial Day weekend. After all, you've got to dress up that perfect new mattress of yours with the best sheets, pillows, comforters and mattress protectors.

Aside from the great sales, Memorial Day is also the official kickoff to summer, so temperatures are on the rise and many people (myself included!) will be swapping out their cozy layers of winter bedding for lighter options like cooling sheets and cooling pillows. Nowadays, there are even high-tech bedding options for the hottest of sleepers, like moisture-wicking fabrics and bedding that's able to regulate body temperature. Lucky for us hot sleepers, lots of cooling bedding is on sale this weekend, too.

All that to say, Memorial Day is a great time to upgrade your bedding and save some cash while you're at it. Reliable retailers like Amazon and Wayfair have deeply discounted some of their most popular bedding products, and some of our favorite brands like Saatva, Sleep Number, and Tuft & Needle have sales on bedding and mattresses that are running all month long.

Below, check out some of our favorite bedding deals to shop this weekend, plus a comprehensive list of all the best Memorial Day bedding sales of 2022.

Yes! Lexie Sachs, Executive Director of the Textiles Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute says that "a holiday shopping weekend – like Memorial Day – will have the most competitive offers across brands. You can often find bedding sales during random times throughout the year, but you’ll consistently find them when you shop over Memorial Day Weekend."

"Consumers will see Memorial Day promotions starting in early May, but the steepest and widest savings really pick up the week leading up to Memorial Day (which is Monday, May 30 this year)," says Jessica Teich, deputy editor at the Good Housekeeping Institute. "That means you should keep your eyes peeled the weekend prior (starting Friday, May 20 this year), but expect the biggest savings during Memorial Day weekend itself (May 26-30)."

"Most notably, mattresses, furniture (indoor and outdoor), outdoor gear (decor, entertaining, garden, grills) and appliances, but you can find savings on smaller-ticket items like clothing too," says Teich.
